Nuclear Enrichment Facility Approval

Gary Kilpatric and Nancy King coordinated the negotiations with the Governor’s office, the state attorney general and the state environment department on behalf of a foreign consortium to address their objections and to obtain their support of that client’s application with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to construct and operate the National Enrichment Facility in Lea County, New Mexico. On June 23, 2006 the NRC approved the client’s application for this project which represents a $1.5 billion investment into rural southwest New Mexico.
