The summer program is a key element of our hiring approach at M&A. The program offers summer associates the opportunity to sample a wide range of legal work and become acquainted with M&A attorneys and staff. Our summer associates quickly become a part of the M&A team and participate in litigation, legal research, and drafting motions. Summer associates are not assigned to a single department because our goal is to give them the chance to experience the various aspects of our practice and get to know as many of our attorneys as possible. Two M&A attorneys are designated as Summer Associate Coordinators to help regulate workload, facilitate communication and feedback, and ensure a positive experience. We do our best to make sure that our summer associates work on a wide variety of interesting projects and are exposed to supervised contact with clients, hearings, depositions, and other “real world” legal experiences. We view our summer program as an opportunity for summer associates and M&A to get to know each other, and we often hire participants.
